What Is Roaming Champagne Service?

Roaming champagne service means uniformed hosts circulating through your event with trays of chilled coupes, rather than a bar guests walk to.

It sounds simple, and it is — but it solves several problems that no fixed bar can.

How it works

Two Riviera hosts arrive, set up a discreet pouring point out of sight of your guests, and then work the room or garden continuously for the service period. Coupes are chilled, trays are refreshed, empties are cleared as they go.

Service is dry hire, as with our cart and wall: you or your caterer supply the champagne or prosecco, and we provide the hosts, the crystal coupes, the trays and the styling.

When it beats a champagne bar

Three situations in particular, all common on this coast: gardens on several levels where guests spread out; terraces and decks with no spare floor space; and receptions where you want guests mingling rather than forming a queue at one point.

It is also the right answer on board a yacht, where a cart usually cannot go.

  • Terraced villa gardens with steps between levels
  • Compact Monaco terraces and apartment events
  • Yacht decks and quayside receptions
  • Any reception where you want movement rather than a queue

How many hosts you need

Our standard roaming package includes two hosts for two hours, which comfortably covers up to fifty guests. Beyond that, add a host rather than stretch the pair — a tray that is never in the right place is worse than a bar.

For large arrivals where everyone appears at once, a combination works best: the cart and wall hold the entrance while roaming hosts cover the rest of the space.

Roaming with, or instead of, the cart

Roaming champagne can be booked as a standalone experience, or added to the champagne cart and wall for events that need both a focal point and coverage.

If you are choosing one, ask yourself where your guests will be standing an hour after arrival. If the answer is 'spread out', roaming wins.

It is not a substitute for a beautiful arrival moment — but for the hour after it, nothing serves guests better.
